Product Description

Clan Mackenzie from the original MacCoinneach and means “Son of Kenneth or Son of the Fair Bight one”. Kenneth lived in the 13th Century and was descended from a younger son of Gilleoin of the Aird. In 1267 Kenneth lived in Eilean Donan a castle at the mouth of Loch Duich. At the start of the fifteenth century the Earldom of Ross came, through marriage, into the hands of the powerful family of MacDonald, who owned vast property on the west of Scotland and called themselves, at first without the authority of the king, Lords of the Isles. In this way the Mackenzies became vassals, not of their kinsmen the Earls of Ross but of the MacDonalds.

Highland Clan Flags are intended for indoor or outdoor use. The flags are made from 70 denier high tenacity nylon, chosen for durability and ability to meet our exacting color standards. A rigourous process ensures colours are locked in for long use, and all edges are double stitched for added strength.

Our clan flags are packaged in robust, clear plastic sleeves that both display and protect the contents - perfect for gifts!

Each package includes a fine printed scroll offering an outline of your Clan's history.

*Please note: this Mackenzie Clan Flag is only available in the 54" x 27" Flag style. Other sizes can be custom made. Please contact The Flag Shop for more information.
