Canada Flag (w/ blue bars) - Proposed by Reid Scott.
When Canada was embroiled in the debate as to which flag should replace the Canadian Red Ensign as “Canada’s flag”, a number of designs were proposed. Flag committee member Reid Scott modified the 3-leafed “Pearson Pennant” designed by George F. G. Stanley by keeping the blue banding representing a united Canada “From Sea to Sea” and reducing the three maple leaves of the original design to one. Before being adopted, the blue banding would be turned to red thus giving Canada its current Maple Leaf flag.
